Socially Acceptable, why I love Social Media

I am a social media expert and thrive working on projects which are innovative and push the boundaries using social media.  I'm very passionate about social and have experience with facebook, twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, blogger and YouTube.
I embrace technology and always enjoy discovering new ways to enhance products and increase leads across all social media platforms. I started my career in social media started with Linkedin in 2009, where I used this platform as a source of revenue and lead generation while working at a Financial consultancy company, and since then I've been hooked!

2011 Career Break

In 2011 I took a career break, during this time I started a zilchoo, the tagline, see Otaki (my home town in New Zealand) for free. This Facebook page and blog were created as while on Maternity Leave to keep my skills current and keep up to date with new technologies and develop my social and online skills.

Managing Zilchoo

Managing Zilchoo is a hobby and provides the perfect platform to learn new technologies, create campaigns and discuss social media. Zilchoo has various social media sites, including a community blog, successful Facebook page and Twitter account.

Going Freelance

After two redundancies, one while on maternity leave and the other while pregnant, I decided to take fate into my own hands, and I'm a freelance social media, digital marketing and web design consultant.

Why Yellow?

I grew up in a town called Otaki in New Zealand, Otaki is known locally as 'Sunny Otaki' so it seemed a natural colour to be drawn to. Also the added bonus of being able to use this cool storm trooper image!

The Science Behind Yellow

Yellow is the most luminous of all the colours, it captures our attention more than any other colour. Yellow represents happiness, optimism, enlightenment and creativity, not to mention bringing thoughts of the sunshine and spring.
